Sunday was Kyle's 5th birthday! It also happened to be a great day to go see the Blue Angels perform up in Seattle. It was fitting, since Kyle will be having an airplane themed birthday party on Monday!
The day started out with Kyle's choice of breakfast (waffles) on the Special plate that everyone gets to use on their special day!
This is Fat Albert, the Blue Angels squadron's transport plane.

After the show, we took one present out for Kyle to open. We were at a park and thought it would be an appropriate time!
It's a remote control stunt flyer!

Daddy was almost hit by the airplane! We were all hot and thirsty after our time at the airshow, so we stopped off at a local McDonald's where Steph ran in and got some ice water and surprised the kids with some cookies.

From there, we headed to Boeing Field, where the Blue Angels park their airplanes. The pilots were still there and were happy to take pictures with our birthday boy!

Here they are getting into their fancy cars!

This is perhaps the loudest airplane that we have ever heard. It was a huge surprise to us to see this Harrier Jump Jet! It is amazing what this plane can do! Take a look! Here we all are with the Blue Angel planes behind us.

What's a 5 year old birthday without TWO trips to McDonalds? Since we hadn't eaten food there earlier, we justified this trip! We ate dinner, Kyle opened his family gifts, and then the kids had a little bit of playtime.
Happy Birthday to Kyle! Race car shirt and shorts from Grandma Pauline and Grandpa Clayton. Thanks for making these Grandma!
Thanks Grandma Louise!

Airplane jammies!
When we were on vacation at the beach, Kyle saw this in the ice cream store and wanted it so badly that it brought tears to his eyes that we wouldn't let him have it. Steph secretly purchased it and brought it home for just this occasion! See his excitement!
