More Red Riding Hood and Friends

It's been a very busy week with Erica's rehearsals for "Red Riding Hood." We've taken her to her rehearsal and then spent the better part of the last two days with our friends since they live closeby. Trevor has had most of his regular naps, which are important! All the kids have had a fun couple of days.
Here's a little taste of the musical....

Caroline was given the royal manicure treatment by Jenifer. Her nails are nice and pink now!
What would a fun playdate be without ice cream and brownies?

Red Riding Hood and Swimming!

Today was audition day for Erica and her friend Kennedy! They tried out for a performance of "Red Riding Hood" put on by the Missoula Children's Theater. It is a weeklong rehearsal schedule, culminating in two performances on Saturday. Both of them will get their chance to be on stage as RACCOONS!

This video is for Jen

The kids started a new session of swim lessons tonight. Erica is now officially a "Guppy" and can swim freestyle and do the backstroke across almost the entire length of the pool!
Kyle and Caroline are still little "Pikes" and we still can't stop Caroline from smiling while she's in the water!

On the Road Again!

We left the beach on Saturday, heading to Uncle Gale and Aunt Laura's house in Olympia for a visit. We made a pitstop potty break and found Superman flying in the back of the van!

Here's Caroline, protecting Baby Christina from the sun.
These two are all smiles...

Gale and Laura prepared a yummy BBQ lunch for us to enjoy outside - until it started to rain!
Playing ball in the house
Uncle Gale and Aunt Laura
Brownies and ice cream and berries. Yum!
Now we're home! Everyone actually slept through the night Saturday night! We had a wonderful vacation, but there's nothing like your own bed! Now we all need a vacation from our vacation!

Our Final Vacation Day

Today was our last day here at the beach house. We drove back down to Ocean Shores and decided to hike a little trail with the kids. It's a sort of mini-rain forest right in the middle of Ocean Shores. It was just the right length for their little legs! Note to self: bring mosquito repellent next time!

When we were done with our easy hike, we found a great park nearby. Just as we pulled into the parking lot, Trevor fell asleep. We let him sleep in the car while the kids played. I relaxed in the front seat too, getting out for occasional picture taking!

On our way back to Pacific Beach, the van drove us back here, to our favorite ice cream place.

What's a vacation without some exhaustion? Caroline fell asleep in the car and continued to sleep right up until we started dinner.

Steph took a walk down to the beach at sunset tonight. There was a lot of cloud cover, but it was still beautiful!

Thursday at the Beach!

The day started out with another visit to the local playground. Greg took the older kids and played some baseball with them there too! He didn't have the camera with him (are you shocked?!) so you'll have imagine the fun they had!

Lunch on the porch today!

Kyle apparently caught Trevor's cold and for awhile today, all he wanted to do was lay down and rest. I wonder who will be next...

Even Trevor got into the action today!

Daddy & Erica
(I keep wondering how she has grown so much. When do they grow?)

Finally at the beach again! The kids dug in the sand, flew kites, trounced in the water, played frisbee and had fun!

Trevor was protected from the wind in this little Play Hut tent. He is feeling better and had a better time, in general, today!

Steph and Caroline walking to the water.
Caroline really didn't want to have anything to do with the water. She was afraid the tide was coming in and the water was going to get our van (and us). I wanted to make sure she at least got her toes wet today before going to sit in the van!

Erica moonwalking

Kyle took his hood off! Yay!

Erica and Kyle got completely soaked in the water. They had a blast jumping over the waves!

It's hard to tell in this picture, but Greg is playing frisbee with Erica and Kyle. I had so much fun just watching them have fun today!

Trevor wanted to get closer to the water too! Everytime we attempted to take his hood off though, he had a hard time catching his breath with the wind blowing on him!

Everyone had showers when we returned home. Even Trevor is clean tonight too!

After getting the kids to bed, Greg took a walk down to the beach to see the sunset.
