Doin' the Puyallup!

You can do it at a trot, you can do it at a gallop, you can do it real slow so your heart won't palpitate...just don't be late! Do the PUYALLUP!

It has become quite a tradition for us to attend the Puyallup Fair each year and this year was no different!

Here we are waiting for the movie of "Al's Brain" to begin. It was a Weird Al Yankovic 3-D movie and song all about the brain! Erica and Kyle loved it and I went back to see it again with them later that night!

The Pacific Science Center was there with a real brain for us to touch!

What is he thinking?!

Erica was called on to be a part of a fun "Let's Pretend Farm" show!

Fun on the swings with Daddy!

The kids love playing the percussion instruments at the fair each year!

Such a little man.

The girls went on a little roller coaster.

So fun!

Can someone please get her to do laundry at home too?

Here's Kyle carving wood.

Kyle and the goat!

I'm not sure which animal we were looking at here...
Our Little Drummer Boy!

We visited the World Vision Africa Experience at the fair and learned all about what it's like to live in a village. Here they are grinding corn.

I don't think I've ever seen a camel this close up!

Caroline drove the cars (with another little boy).

Here are a few videos of some fun activities we did!

I think this was the highlight of the kids' day this year. I'm not sure how we got roped into it, but we allowed the three big kids to do the Johnny Jump- Ups. They loved it and Erica even got in a few flips!

On the swing...

Erica, Kyle and I went down the giant slide. We took off at the same time and Erica and I thought we'd win! Kyle came back from behind!

Egyptian Pyramids

As part of our curriculum, we are studying Ancient Egypt. This week we discussed mummies and pyramids. We thought it would be fun to end the week by making our own pyramids!

The ingredients:
Trevor decided to make his own pyramid out of blocks. :)

The hard work has just begun!

Such concentration...

...and precision.

We did it!

Erica's pyramid was "The Great Pyramid of Giza" which was a couple of layers taller than the other two. It required standing up to work on the upper layers!

Here is Erica covering the tip in "gold."

The finished product!

Ta da!

The Great Sphinx is watching over the pyramids, making sure that no grave robbers come and take what is not theirs!
