It's Fine to be Nine!

Erica is NINE!

A few weeks ago, she requested breakfast in bed on her birthday, so we decided to wake her up with some waffles and eggs. Here she is all wrapped up in her adored yellow blankie!

Breakfast in bed on her upper bunk!

Kyle made some things out of Legos for Erica for her special day! She loved her car and house from him! So thoughtful of Kyle!

Steph took the girls to tea at "The Secret Garden." There was much anticipation as it was Caroline's first time to go out for tea, and Erica was so excited for a special time out!

What Erica didn't know, was that I had arranged for her best friend to come to tea also! What a surprise! Erica turned a nice shade of pink when she arrived!
Just us girls!

"I would like a spot of tea, please!"

Caroline had "pink lemonade" tea and enjoyed being a big girl and pouring it by herself! Not a drop was spilled!

Here's another one of our adorable guests!

The birthday girl with her Buttercup Tea!

Yum!

Sisters...

Erica received this special cake from her friend, which we all enjoyed as a family later in the day.

Rasberry Sorbet - yum!

Erica even received a yummy chocolate cake with a sparkler in it. She remembers touching it and burning her finger a couple of years ago (ouch!) when we were there for her birthday. This time she waited until she knew it was cooled off, and then had her mommy remove it from the cake!

Sweet Girls

Love!

Later in the day, Erica opened her gifts, including this gorgeous handmade bag. She had requested a bag for her library books and a friend of ours did the handiwork. It is even more beautiful in person!

Blowing out the #9 candle!

We did things a little backwards in the afternoon. We opened gifts, then had cake, and then went and had a light dinner at a McDonald's with a great Playland!

Hi Daddy!

Happy 9th Birthday to our sweet firstborn, Erica! We love you so much!
