Last Day of School!

Today was the last day of school for Erica! She is officially a second grader now! Wow, how time flies! Here she is with her class before heading out for the traditional flag ceremony.

Here's Mrs. Workman with part of her end of the year gift from Erica.

Here's a closer work of Erica's artwork. She wrote out her name and drew some hearts and flowers. Then we copied them and turned them into pads of paper for Mrs. Workman!

The school has a tradition of gathering outside around the flagpole and singing the Pledge of Allegiance, and this song, "Give it Your Best." It's very touching to hear all the students sing and is a nice way to end the year!

It was a half day, so after lunch, we had our "Happy Summer" cake! Erica was pleasantly surprised! I had made a cake at the beginning of the school year too, so she was really hoping for one!
