April Fools! Spring Break - Day 2!

We started our day with milk from a blue cow and hot dogs for breakfast. Erica loved the concept of having fun today, but Caroline and Kyle weren't too sure about it! The hot dogs were buns with peanut butter, banana, and honey. Both Caroline and Kyle actually headed back to bed and even shed tears over it!

Kyle looked for corners to hide in and even went under the table to get away from the milk! We did not force him to drink it or eat the hot dog!
Caroline got over her initial fear and enjoyed the fun!
Shortly afterward, Erica and Kyle took out some educational books and spent some time learning! Kyle was impressive with his ability to recognize letters/sounds and even to write numbers. I didn't realize he could do some of the things he was doing!
Caroline got in on the action and enjoyed coloring.
For lunch, we attended another lovely Spring Tea. Jenifer is so hospitable and always puts so much effort into making sure it is a wonderful time each year (this is the 4th year)! These are friends and children of friends that Steph used to teach with. It's been so fun to see our children grow and remain friends all these years (7 already!).

We also celebrated Kennedy's 7th birthday today while we were there. Erica had so much fun seeing Kennedy's surprise at her birthday present! Ah, the joy of giving!
Caroline somehow ate 2 cupcakes and really wanted to eat Kyle's. She was almost getting into the Lemon Meringue Pie, but I stopped her! She had a great time, as did we all!

That is hilarious! I would have probably been crying tears of laughter if my kids ran away from blue milk! What a fun day you planned! =)
