And We're Off!

...to the beach!

This is our 4th consecutive year visiting Pacific Beach, staying at our friend's quaint little house. We've gone from having to bring two Pack 'n Plays for Kyle and Caroline when they were super little, to now having three kiddos in one big bed (although that is going to change tonight!).

We are packed to the brim!

On our way to the coast, we stopped for lunch in Lakewood, which is near where McChord Air Force Base was having an airshow. We finished lunch just on time to see the Thunderbirds perform. What a great start to our vacation! We hope to see the Blue Angels in a couple of weeks and we will remember to bring our earplugs!

As we continued our drive, Greg suddenly realized he hadn't packed one pair of long pants. When you go to the Washington coast, you really need long pants! We're not in California anymore! So after a quick cell phone call to Steph's mom to get some addresses of a few stores, we stopped for Greg to buy a pair of jeans and sweats! The kids were watching a movie in the car while Greg went shopping.

Here's Greg with his new (used) pair of Russell sweats! Value Village was directly across the street from Target, which did not sell sweats! I love Value Village and wish they'd reopen in our city!

"There were three in a bed and the little one said, 'Roll over! Roll over!' So they all rolled over and one fell out. There were two in the bed...."

Okay, so no one rolled over and fell out, but there were some moments that we'd rather not repeat tonight! It was just a little bit squishy for our 3 and 4 year old. I think one of us will switch places with Caroline tonight. Stay tuned for how that goes.

Trevor was in the Pack 'n Play at the end of the bed, but had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad night. He is usually such a happy, flexible baby, but last night he woke up at least once an hour, causing all of us to have a lousy night's sleep. He is teething, and he now has a cold. I'm not sure how doctors can say that the two aren't related! Tonight, he gets medicine.

Today started out being overcast, so I stayed home with Trevor while he took a much needed nap and Greg took the other three to the local school playground. (First they went and bought me a mocha at the local kite shop!) But now the sun is shining brightly and we expect to go build some sandcastles and collect sanddollars soon!
