Glasses

Erica had her eyes checked today after the recommendation from her pediatrician on Monday. As it turns out, she'll be joining many of us in the glasses club! Her eyesight is 20/100 (right eye) and 20/80 (left eye). She'll be getting glasses in the next few days and we are excited to see her reaction to what the world really looks like! She never complained of not being able to see either here at home or at school, so we had no idea life was so blurry for her! I think she's a little apprehensive about getting glasses, especially since she doesn't know many children who wear them. If your kids wear them or you know some that do, please let me know! I think it will encourage her!

It probably won't help her, but I've worn glasses since the 2nd grade! There are lots of cool frames nowadays - she'll look so stylish.

Hi Erica! Four of my kids wear glasses and they love them. Ok, actually Adam, he's almost 7, lost his somewhere but Ian, my 10 year old, and Mia, my 8 year old, love theirs. They got to pick out the frames themselves, so they match their styles and their clothes (Mia thought that was pretty important). Cassie, she's 14, got contact lenses a few years ago but she just asked for another pair of glasses because she likes them so much.

The best thing was being able to see. You'll be surprised at how well you'll be able to see (maybe even better than Mom and Dad, if you can believe that!).

I hope your Mom posts a picture of you in your beautiful glasses when you get them.
